Book launch at "The Best Little Library in the West"

On 21 October "The Last, The Least, The Lonely and The Lost" was launched at the Piha Community Library, which serves the communities of Piha, Karekare and Anawhata. Established in 1959, and initially housed in a private home, then in an old Council implement shed, it now operates from a purpose-built structure, with over 7,000 items: books, magazines, DVDs, and audiovisual materials. Overseen by a charitable trust, a manager and volunteer librarians run it five days a week.

The author entertained the audience with selected readings, followed by a Q +A session, then afternoon tea.
